They already had to sell about 1/3 of their shares to Fiat. The latter having the option to buy up to 50%. If that happens, the US Government will demand the loan back.

It wasn't totaled, I haven't seen the list of parts but I'm sure that some of them are electrical. Had an "intermediate" for the first 28 days from National; a Dodge Avenger. Repriced cars for the second go round, Thrifty was the cheapest. Picked the "wild car" option (pay about the price of a midsize, get whatever's not moving off the lot by explicit request). I got a Chrysler Town and Country with the gearshift sticking out of the dashboard.

In fact they've come out with some new models - The Chapter Series. There's the new "Chapter 11." It's a convertible. Then there's the "Chapter 7." It's a limited edition hearse.
